The Neurologic Rehabilitation Institute at Brookhaven Hospital joins the Brain Injury Association of America in announcing March as Brain Injury Awareness Month with Brain Injury Awareness Day on March 22.

Over 12 million individuals are living with brain injury. This can cause a lifetime of disability which affects the person as well as their loved ones, who often intervene as full time caregivers. Awareness of the need for identification and treatment of brain injury is critical in reducing the impact of the disability to allow the individual to return to life.

The Neurologic Rehabilitation Institute (NRI) at Brookhaven Hospital, is an internationally recognized center for the treatment and rehabilitation of individuals with traumatic brain injuries and other neurological disorders. Our highly individualized treatment program is tailored to each individual with the goal of restoring the highest level of independence possible. NRI is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, CARF International.
